2026 Shredders Final Season Update

As the Saturday PM and Sunday Shredders season comes to a close, I want to take a moment to say how grateful I am for this group of athletes and families. It has been a truly rewarding season, and I feel very fortunate to have spent it skiing with your teams. Thank you for the trust, support, communication, and encouragement you have shown throughout the year. A strong team environment depends on that partnership, and it made a real difference all season long.

The athletes have made tremendous progress. Over the course of the season, we worked on a wide range of skills, including safety, group dynamics, parallel skiing, turn shape, edging, fore-aft balance, pressure control, moguls, terrain awareness, and more. Just as important, the athletes grew in confidence, decision-making, resilience, and respect for one another. Those qualities matter just as much as technical progress, and this group showed all of them.

What stood out all season was the athletes’ willingness to try, adjust, and keep improving. They took on challenging terrain, variable snow, new drills, and unfamiliar situations with a positive attitude. That kind of growth mindset is exactly what leads to long-term success in skiing. They should be proud of how far they have come.

To the families whose athletes have already finished their season, thank you again for being part of the program. To those joining us for the final weekend, I am looking forward to ending the season on a strong note with more fun, more mileage, and a few final skill refinements.

Looking Ahead: Next Season

If you are already thinking about next season and wondering whether the Academy weekend program may be a good fit for your athlete, I would be happy to help. For some athletes, it can be an excellent next step that provides more structure, progression, and long-term development. For others, a different path may be the better fit depending on goals, readiness, and what kind of experience they will enjoy most.

If you would like to talk through options for your athlete, please reach out. I am happy to share my perspective on where they are now, what they have improved on this season, and what next step may best support their continued growth and enjoyment on the mountain.

A Note of Appreciation

Several parents have asked how they can thank me at the end of the season, so I wanted to share my Venmo here: https://venmo.com/u/Coach-Alex. Gratuities are always appreciated, but never expected. Coaching Shredders is something I genuinely enjoy, and it has been a pleasure to be part of your athlete’s season.

Thank you again for a great winter. It has been a lot of fun watching this group improve, challenge themselves, and support one another. I hope to ski with many of you again next season.
